Born in Ohio and raised in Florida, he graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2006.  In 2007 he moved to Roatan in order to get back to his island roots.  His mother was born and raised on the island. He and Greg met and started working on deep-sea charter boats.  After finishing 2nd out of 50 boats in the 2010 IGFA Roatan international fishing tournament they decided to focus on fly fishing.

In late February 2015, after three days of successful salt water fly fishing with Fly Fish Guanaja, my buddy and I made the eleven mile passage from Guanaja to Roatán with our guide Greg Baldwin in his panga. The day was beautiful, and the ocean was smooth. Once inside the Roatán reef, we had a 45 mile run to West End and saw more than 35 permit on the reef. We had shots at several but no bites. Over the next two days, we had many more shots at nice permit, got several to turn on crabs, and missed three or four bites.

The accommodations Greg arranged for us on Half Moon Bay were excellent, as were the local bars and restaurants. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning next February. Greg, whom I have known for three years, is a superb guide and host. The fishing is tough, but the fish are there. I just have to elevate my skill level, which will only come with more practice!’

Fishing in the waters off Guanaja and Routan  are some of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. The area is rustic but also beautiful, the waters are clean and fish are present. We concentrated on permit when fishing with Greg and he knew where they were and hw to catch them. Greg is knowledge, patient and humorous, everything I needed in a good mentor. Fishing is supposed to be a fun experience and Greg did everything he could to make it that way.

I look forward to my next trip to Roatan and it can not come too sooner.

Greg exceeded my expectations both on and off the water, and I highly recommend his excellent operation.  He assisted in every aspect of planning my trip, from airport transfers to hotel, nightlife, and restaurant recommendations.  It is obvious that Greg is held in high regard by the locals of Roatan, which is one of the most enjoyable beach communities I have had the pleasure of traveling to.  His custom made boat is one of the best designed saltwater fly fishing boats I have ever been in.  He knows where the permit are, and will put you on them for sure.  The rest is up to you and the fish…
